Dundee Renewable Energy Society - Upcoming Share Offer
The James Hutton Institute has been working since xxxx with the Dundee Renewable Energy Society (a Society for the Benefit of the Community) on the development of the proposed Solar Meadow at Bullionfield. The intention is that the Society will own the Solar Meadow and the Institute will buy the electricity it produces. All profits from the project will be used for community benefit in the Dundee area.
To make this happen, it is hoped that lots of people from the Dundee area will become members and invest in the Society. The Society will use the money to pay for the construction of the project. The project is expected to have a life of at least 25 years, so most of the money will be invested for the longer term. For more information on the project and other similar projects already up and running, please visit:

We want to know how many Institute employees would be interested in investing, how much, what rate of interest is attractive and what type of community projects you think are most worth doing. Please bear in mind that the more is paid in interest, the less money will be available for community benefit.
