Assel Valley wind farm site is located 5 km south of Girvan in South Ayrshire, Scotland.
The plant employs ten N90/2500 wind turbines and has an installed capacity of 25 MW, generating approximately 84,000 MWh annually. The clean energy produced is the equivalent to the energy consumed by 20,500 homes and will save almost 36,000 tonnes of CO2.
Falck Renewables Wind Limited are working in partnership with Energy4All to promote community owned schemes across Scotland. A community owned co-operative is in development for Assel Valley to provide benefits to the local community. The co-operative will purchase a stake in the Assel Valley wind farm and receive an income from the electricity generated.
Local people and renewable energy supporters nationwide will have the opportunity to purchase shares in the co-operative. If you would like to register your interest to receive further information please click on the link below.
Investments in shares of renewable energy co-operatives and community benefit societies are long term investments to deliver an environmental and social impact as well as a financial return. As with any investment there are risks. Your capital is at risk and may not be
readily realisable. Returns are projected, variable, depend on performance of the project and are not guaranteed. Consider all risks before investing. As unregulated share offers, investments do not receive the protection of the Government’s Financial Services
Compensation Scheme and investors do not have recourse to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
